OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: CDC reports 279 illnesses in 29 states due to Salmonella Oranienburg. Twenty-six people have been hospitalized. So far, neither CDC nor FDA has identified the food vehicle responsible for the outbreak.

Allergy Alert: Whole Foods Market recalls select whole and sliced Apple and Cherry Pies from five stores in the Mid-Atlantic Region because they contain undeclared milk and egg. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Allergy Alert: Ready Pac Foods, Inc. recalls approximately 222,915 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) salad products with meat and poultry due to the presence of undeclared anchovies in the salad dressing. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: FDA is assisting CDC in the ongoing investigation of four separate multistate foodborne outbreaks, two involving Salmonella and two involving Cyclospora. No specific food vehicle has yet been identified for any of these outbreaks.
