Outbreak/Illness Investigations
USA Cyclosporiasis Update: CDC has confirmed 15,716 domestically acquired cases of cyclosporiasis in 47 US states, plus Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia since May 1st. An additional 11,841 cases or more may require further investigation and analysis. Two people have died and 828 have been hospitalized. Another 1,681 cases were attributed to foreign travel.

Allergy Alert: L-Nutra recalls Prolon brand Apulian Almond & Cocoa Spread (8.47 oz; Lot L2755; Expiration date January 2, 2027; UPC 850040360530) due to undeclared cashews, pistachios and/or hazelnut.
Food Safety Recall Update: Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, Inc. recalls Outshine Strawberry, Watermelon, Grape, Tangerine and Black Cherry 6-Count 2.5 ounce Fruit Bars and the Outshine 24-Count 2.5 ounce Variety Pack Fruit Bars due to possible foreign matter contamination (glass).
Food Safety Recall: Indus Foods, LLC DBA Gangothri Foods recalls approximately 1,626 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) pickled goat and chicken products that were produced without the benefit of inspection.
Food Safety Recall: Asian America Trading, Inc. recalls approximately 996 pounds of ready-to-eat fish skin products prepared from Pangasius fish that were imported from The People’s Republic of China, a country that is not eligible to export Ready-To-Eat Siluriformes product to the United States.
