Allergy Alert: Rico Perez Products, Inc. recalls Dr. Rico Perez Super Kids Colostrum chewable tablets (60-count bottles; Lots 1117002, 0122003 & 0223539; Exp. 04/30/2023, 07/31/2024 & 11/30/2025, respectively) due to undeclared milk.

Canada

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: PHAC is investigating an outbreak of 45 confirmed cases of Salmonella illness due to contact with snakes and rodents. Outbreak cases have been confirmed in eight provinces, including British Columbia (1), Alberta (5), Saskatchewan (1), Manitoba (3), Ontario (22), Quebec (11), New Brunswick (1) and Newfoundland and Labrador (1). Nine individuals have been hospitalized, and one person has died. Nine of the outbreak victims are children under five years of age.

Allergy Alert: Paradis Vegetarien recalls Paradis Végétarien brand Veg-O-Mix Ham Flavour (1000g; Batch code 12700920; UPC 8 423730 002694) due to undeclared egg. The recalled product was sold in the province of Québec.

Food Safety Recall: Cabane à sucre chez Oswald (Saint-Esprit, QC) recalls Soupe aux pois / Pea soup (All units sold up to 13 April 2023) and Fèves au lard / Baked beans (all units sold up to 13 April 2023) due to potential for growth of Clostridium botulinum.

Europe

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION (Spain): More that 40 individuals were stricken with food poisoning after eating a range of dishes prepared as part of a MasterChef cooking show, according to a report in Food Safety News.

Allergy Alert (Belgium): Carrefour recalls Carrefour The Market brand Filet Mignon de Porc Sauce Champignons / Pork filet mignon with mushrooms (600g; Lot 634611; Use by 16/04/2023) due to undeclared milk.

Allergy Alert (France): LES SALAISONS DIJON.A.SABATIER SALAISONS DIJONNAISES recalls Antoine Sabatier brand Terrine de lapin moutarde tranche FE / Rabbit terrine with mustard (1 slice; Lot 095052; Use by 09/05/2023) due to undeclared hazelnuts.
