United States
OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: New cases have been reported in a three-state outbreak of Salmonella Weltevreden illnesses that was thought to be over. The illnesses are linked to consumption of frozen cooked shrimp manufactured by Avanti Frozen Foods of India. At least one of the new cases was associated with consumption of shrimp that was not part of the list of recalled products. FDA has requested a voluntary recall of additional products, bu the company has not yet complied.
OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: FDA is working with CDC to investigate two separate outbreaks of Cyclospora illnesses. The agency has not yet identified a product linked to either outbreak.
Food Safety Recall: Ballreich Snack Food Co. recalls BAR-B-Q seasoned Potato Chips (1.5oz, 2.75oz, and 7oz bags; Sell by 10/18/21, 10/25/21 & 11/01/21) due to potential Salmonella contamination.
FDA Warning Letter: FDA issues Warning Letter to Acme Smoked Fish Corp. after finding Salmonella in its ready-to-eat, cold-smoked tuna product, Listeria monocytogenes in environmental swab samples from various areas in the production facility, and serious violations of FDA food safety regulations.
Canada
Allergy Alert: Nomad Nutrition recalls multiple production codes of Nomad Nutrition brand Caribbean Curry and Nomad Nutrition brand Kathmandu Curry due to undeclared allergens. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.
Food Safety Recall: Les Aliments Gourmet Vegan Touch recalls ALFREDO STYLE Sauce (580 ml; Product sold up to 10 August 2021) due to improper storage temperature conditions.
