Outbreak/Illness Investigations
AUSTRALIA: At least 44 cases of Salmonella infection have been reported across Australia: 15 in Queensland, nine in Victoria, two in South Australia, and the remainder in New South Wales.
DENMARK: The Statens Serum Institut reports 7 cases of Listeria monocytogenes with sequence type 403 since August 2025. Outbreak vicims are predominantly elderly and live in various parts of the country. The source of the infections has not yet been determined.
DENMARK: The Statens Serum Institut reports 11 cases of Listeria monocytogenes with sequence type 7 since August 2025. Outbreak victims range in age from 30 to 95 years (median age 75) and live in different parts of the country. The outbreak has been traced to ready-made fish cakes, which have been recalled.
USA: CDC, FDA, the California Department of Public Health and other state and local partners report 15 suspected or confirmed cases of infant botulism that appear to be linked to consumption of ByHeart powdered infant formula in 12 states. All fifteen victims have been hospitalized.
USA: CDC reports an outbreak of 17 cases of Salmonella Cotham infections linked to contact with pet bearded dragons in 11 states. Six people have been hospitalized and one death has been recorded.

Allergy Alert: Magasin Lagoria Bélanger inc. (Saint-Léonard, QC) recalls SAUCISSE DE POULET HALAL DOUCE / Mild halal chicken sausage (All lots) due to undeclared mustard and wheat.
Food Safety Recall: La Pistacherie (Montréal, QC) recalls various pistachios and pistachio-containing products due to possible Salmonella contamination.
