United States

OUTBREAK ALERT (Cruise ship): P&O Cruises reports a suspected outbreak of Norovirus infections on the Arcadia. Fifty-four passengers (~3%) and twelve crew members are reported to be suffering from vomiting and diarrhea. Epidemiologists and environmental health officers from the CDC Vessel Sanitation Program will board the ship on January 13 to conduct a formal outbreak investigation.

Food Safety Recall (Update): Utopia Foods Inc. recalls Utopia Enoki Mushrooms (200g; Best before 03/02/2023 and 03.09.23; distributed between January 6th to January 13th, 2023) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Allergy Alert: Ameripack Foods LLC recalls H-E-B Meal Simple Chocolate Chunk Brownie (13 oz; Use by 01/12/2023; UPC 4122077413) due to undeclared soy and egg. The recalled product was sold at H-E-B retail stores in Texas.

Allergy Alert: Daiso California LLC recalls multiple Tohato and Kashiwado snacks due to undeclared almonds, peanuts, soybeans, milk, and/or shellfish.
