USA: FDA is investigating a new outbreak of 30 Salmonella I 4,[5],12:i:- illnesses linked to an as yet unidentified food, and has noted increased case counts in several Cyclospora outbreak clusters currently under investigation for which links to specific food products have not yet been established.

USA Cyclosporiasis Update: CDC has received reports of 13,895 laboratory-confirmed cases of cyclosporiasis acquired in the United States since May 1, 2026. These cases have been reported in 47 states plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Two people have died and 740 have been hospitalized. The agency is aware of at least 10,455 more cases across the USA. In addition, 46 states have reported 1,530 lab-confirmed cases, including 58 hospitalizations, linked to foreign travel.

Allergy Alert: Frankie’s Organic recalls Frankie’s Organic Plant-Based Vegan Cheddar Puffs (4 oz bag; Lot code 05 16 2027; Best if used by May 16, 2027) due to undeclared milk.

Food Safety Recall: Whole Foods Market recalls select products from its Produce and Prepared Foods departments that contain jalapeños sourced from Coast Citrus Distributors (Best before/Best by dates of 8/7/2026 – 8/16/2026) due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled products were sold online and in Whole Foods Market stores in TX, OK, LA, AR, WI, MI, IL, IN, IA, MO, KY, and OH.

Food Safety Recall: Marché Atlas (Saint-Léonard, QC) recalls BŒUF HACHÉ MAIGRE / Lean ground beef (All units with pack date of 31/07/26) due to possible shiga toxin-producing E. coli contamination.

Food Safety Recall: MFG Distribution Inc. recalls three Alfa brand croissant products (Various lot codes and Best before dates) due to mold contamination.

Food Safety Recall: Taylor Fresh Foods recalls multiple products made wtih Jalapeño peppers (Best if used by dates up to and including August 16, 2026) due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled products were sold unbranded and under a variety of brand names, including: Private Selection, Taylor Farms, Trader Joe’s, and Freshness Guaranteed. The products were distributed in 26 states to retailers including: Hannaford, Kroger, Stop and Shop, Target, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, and Whole Foods Market. Food Safety Recall: City Foods, Inc. recalls approximately 3,215 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) pastrami and corned beef products due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Public Health Alert: FSIS issues public health alert for meat and poultry products containing FDA-regulated jalapeños (Use by dates up to and including August 16, 2026) due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled products were sold under a variety of brand names, including: Deli Kitchen, H-E-B, Higher Harvest for H-E-B, Marketside, Meal Simple, RaceTrac, Ready Meals, Taylor Farms, and WaWa. The products were sold at Kroger/Dillons, Kroger, H-E-B, Walmart, RaceTrac, Albertsons, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Hannaford, and WaWa.
