Outbreak/Illness Investigations

USA: CDC reports 141 cases of gastrointestinal illness among passengers (134 cases) and crew (7 cases) of Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas during a July 4, 2025–July 11, 2025 voyage. The cause of the outbreak is under investigation.

Food Safety Recall: Albertsons recalls  select items containing tuna salad supplied by Reser’s Fine Foods due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled products were sold in Albertsons, Randalls and Tom Thumb stores in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.

USA: CDC and FDA are investigating 11 cases of Salmonella Anatum illnesses in 10 US states. Four people have been hospitalized. The outbreak is linked to consumption of frozen sprouted mung beans produced and supplied by Chetak LLC Group.

CANADA (Update): The Public Health Agency of Canada reports 86 confirmed cases of Salmonella illness linked to consumption of Rea brand and Bona brand salamis in four provinces. Cases have been reported in Alberta (67), British Columbia (1), Manitoba (1), and Ontario (17).

USA (Update): CDC and FDA are investigating an outbreak of four cases of Salmonella Oranienburg infections in New Jersey (1) and Minnesota (3) linked to consumption of pistachio cream manufactured by Emek Dogal Saglik Urunleri Iklim Gida Insaat San Tic Ltd Sti in Turkey. One person has been hospitalized.

USA: FDA is investigating a new outbreak of 18 cases of Salmonella Oranienburg infections linked to a not-yet-identified product.
