OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: FDA supplies updated case counts on in-progress outbreak traceback investigations for E. coli O157:H7 (12 cases) and Cyclospora cayetanensis (2 outbreaks, involving 118 and 43 confirmed cases, respectively).
OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: So far this year, the CDC has received 581 reports of Cyclosporiasis illnesses, including 55 hospitalizations from 31 states.
Consumer Alert (Pennsylvania): The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture is warning the public not to consume raw goat milk from Dove Song Dairy (All container sizes and Sell-by dates) due to possible Campylobacter contamination.
Allergy Alert: Richin Trading Inc. recalls Tim Heung Yuen brand black melon seed (6 oz & 12 oz; UPC 715685190013 & 715685190020) due to undeclared wheat and soy.

Europe
OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION (Norway): The Institute of Public Health reports four cases of Listeria monocytogenes infections apparently associated with consumption of smoked salmon and trout. The three women and one man became ill and were hospitalized in June 2023. An identical strain of Listeria monocytogenes was recovered from all four outbreak victims. Three of the four people reported having eaten either smoked salmon or smoked trout from the same producer in the time before they became ill. The outbreak strain was found in two packs of smoked salmon from this producer. One of the people had the packages in the freezer.
