Food Safety Recall: Greenhead Lobster Products recalls all frozen and refrigerated cooked lobster meat products produced from May 9, 2023, through October 19, 2023, due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Food Safety Recall: Utopia Foods Inc recalls Qilu Enterprise brand Enoki Mushrooms (200g packages; All lots) due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Food Safety Recall: Capitology, LLC recalls Rica Sula TAJADITAS con CHICHARRON Platanos Con Chicharron (5.3-oz. foil pouch packages; Product of Honduras), because Honduras is not eligible to export pork products to the USA. The packages do not bear either an establishment number or a USDA mark of inspection.

Pet Food Safety Recall: TFP Nutrition recalls Retriever All Life Stages Mini Chunk Chicken Recipe Dry Dog Food (50-lb bags; Best by 10 2024 3277 TFP & 10 2024 3278 TFP) due to potential Salmonella contamination.

Salmonella in kibble prompts product recall

TFP Nutrition of Nacogdoches, Texas, has recalled two batches of Retriever All Life Stages dry dog food after learning that the Office of the Texas State Chemist found Salmonella in a random sample of the product.

No animal or human illnesses have been linked to the recalled food.

The recall is limited to the following product:

Retriever All Life Stages Mini Chunk Chicken Recipe Dry Dog Food, 50-lb bags:- Production codes BEST BY 10 2024 3277 TFP and BEST BY 10 2024 3278 TFP

The recalled product was manufactured on October 4, 2023 and October 5, 2023, and distributed to Tractor Supply Company stores in Arkansas, Arizona, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.

All of the recalled product has been removed from store shelves, and no other Tractor Supply pet foods are implicated in this product recall.

TFP is a family-owned manufacturer of pet food and livestock feed, and has been in business since January 1930.

The company has been inspected on at least four occasions by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) since 2010, with the most recent inspection having taken place in February 2020.

The results of all four inspections were satisfactory.

What consumers should know

Dogs can become infected with Salmonella after eating a contaminated product, including kibble.

Infected dogs may show symptoms that include lethargy, decreased appetite, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some infected dogs may not show any symptoms at all, but may shed the bacteria in their stools nevertheless, potentially infecting other animals or humans.

People who become infected with Samonella may suffer from nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and fever. In rare cases, a Salmonella infection can result in more serious ailments, including arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary tract symptoms.

Pet owners or other individuals who may have come into contact with the recalled product should monitor themselves and their animals for symptoms of Salmonella infection, and should consult their veterinarian or healthcare professional (as appropriate) if any of these symptoms appear.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: FDA reports that the number of confirmed cases of Salmonella Thompson in a multistate outbreak of unknown origin has risen to 72 from 67. Traceback investigation has been initiated, but no food source has yet been identified.

Food Safety Recall: Moody Dunbar Inc recalls HEB CUT SWEET POTATOES IN LIGHT SYRUP (29 oz (822g); Batch code DK21J 4ALC6; Best by OCT 2025) and SYSCO Classic Cut Sweet Potatoes (108 oz (3.06 kg); Batch codes DK21J49LC8 & DK21J49LC9; Best by OCT 2025) due to a malfunctioning retort chart resulting in no data being recorded during the production run.

Food Safety Recall: Phu Huong Food Company recalls BÒ VIÊN PHÙ-HƯƠNG GÂN BEEF MEATBALLS (WITH BEEF TENDONS) (Chicken added / Cô Gá) (11 oz; Lot codes 200101 through 200124) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Food Safety Recall: Mrs. Pasta recalls approximately 4,544 pounds of frozen meat products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection. Please refer to the recall announcement for a complete list of affected products.

FDA Warning Letter: FDA issues Warning Letter to Lathem Family Farms, Inc. of Pendergrass, GA, listing multiple violations of the federal Prevention of Salmonella Enteritidis (SE) in Shell Eggs During Production, Storage, and Transportation regulation, including numerous instances of Salmonella contamination in the company’s poultry houses and within its processing facility environment.
