Outbreak/Illness Investigations

USA (Update): FDA, CDC, and FSIS continue to investigate an outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes illnesses linked to FreshRealm Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo Meals. Twenty confirmed outbreak cases have been identified; 19 of the 20 victims required hospitalization. The implicated products were distributed nationwide and are sold in the refrigerated section at Walmart and Kroger stores under the Marketside and Home Chef brand names, respectively.

Allergy Alert: Gansu Zhaofeng Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. (Hui County Industrial Concentration Zone, Longnan City, Gansu Province) recalls G&L FOOD Dried Bean Curd (500g/bag; Expiration dates 25/10/2025,11/06/2026 and 20/06/2026; UPC 6976325560236) due to undeclared wheat.

Public Health Alert Update: FSIS advises the public not to consume MARKETSIDE LINGUINE WITH BEEF MEATBALLS & MARINARA SAUCE (12-oz. clear plastic tray; Best if used by SEP 22, 2025; SEP 24, 2025; SEP 25, 2025; SEP 29, 2025; SEP 30, 2025; and OCT 01, 2025; Est No. EST. 50784” or “EST. 47718” inside the USDA mark of inspection) and TRADER JOE’S CAJUN STYLE BLACKENED CHICKEN BREAST FETTUCINE ALFREDO (16 oz clear plastic tray; Best if used by 9/20/2025, 9/24/2025, or 9/27/2025; Est No. P- 45288” inside the USDA mark of inspection) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

FDA Advisory (Pet Food): FDA cautions consumers not to feed Darwin’s Natural Pet Products BioLogics All-Natural & Grain-Free Beef Recipe for Dogs (2 lb pkgs; Lot 11895; MFG date Jul 29, 2025) and Darwin’s Natural Pet Products BioLogics All-Natural & Grain-Free Beef Recipe for Dogs (2 lb pkgs; Lot 11826; MFG date Jul 07, 2025) due to Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella contamination. The FDA recommended that the manufacturer, Arrow Reliance, Inc., recall the two affected product lots. The firm reportedly sent a letter to customers notifying them about the two lots testing positive for L. monocytogenes, but the letter did not inform customers about the presence of Salmonella in one lot.

Allergy Alert: Beretta Farms recalls Beretta brand Chicken Pot Pie (908g; All packages; UPC 8 33307 00400 2) due to undeclared egg.

Food Safety Alert: MAPAQ advises the public not to consume Chocolat Dubaï / Dubai Chocolate prepared and sold by Sour Bites between 7 April 2025 and 5 September 2025 due to possible Salmonella contamination.

Food Safety Recall: Supermarché Danika (Montréal, QC) recalls Pistaches en vrac / Bulk pistachios (Sold between 7 May 2025 and 29 August 2025) due to possible Salmonella contamination.

CANADA (Update): PHAC reports that the Salmonella outbreak linked to pistachios has grown to encompass 105 confirmed cases in six provinces, including: British Columbia (6), Alberta (4), Manitoba (1), Ontario (27), Quebec (66), and New Brunswick (1). Sixteen people have been hospitalized.

United States

Food Safety Recall Update: Sprout Organics recalls Sprout Organics® Sweet Potato Apple and Spinach (3.5 oz pouches; Lot codes 4212, 4213, 4282, 4310; Best by Oct292025, Oct302025, Dec042025, Feb042026, respectively) due to elevated lead levels.
