PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT: The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert for an undetermined amount of imported cooked duck blood curds from China. A recall was not requested because FSIS has been unable to contact the importer. Please refer to the official notice for additional details.

Allergy Alert: Fresco Foods Inc. recalls Eat Fresco, Ancient Grain Jackfruit Bowl (14 oz / 397 g: All Best If Used By/Freeze By dates up to and including 9/15/2020) due to undeclared anchovies.

OUTBREAK ALERT UPDATE: PHAC reports 48 confirmed cases of Salmonella Enteritidis infections in Ontario (32) and Quebec (16) linked to consumption of peaches imported from the USA. Please refer to the CFIA Consumer Advisory for a list of imported peaches implicated in this outbreak.

Allergy Alert: Canadian Tire Corporation of Canada recalls Frank brand Milk Chocolate Covered Raisins (300g; Lots 07EUA, 13EUA,07GUB, 21DUB, 08GUB; Best Before 2021 MA 07  & 2021 MA 13) due to undeclared peanuts.

Allergy Alert: Diana Distribution Centre Ltd. recalls Vegetarian Spring Rolls (42 g x 19 pc; All packages where monosodium glutamate is not declared on the label) due to undeclared monosodium glutamate (MSG).

Europe

OUTBREAK ALERT (FRANCE): Santé Publique France reports 18 cases of Salmonella infections (including 12 children) in France are linked to imported “fuets” manufactured by Embutidos Sola SA of Spain. Victims fell ill between July 8, 2020 and August 3, 2020. Please refer to the recall notice, below.

Allergy Alert (Belgium): Q & Queen International Trading Corp recalls DURRA brand KESHK (500g; Expiry date 01/2022) due to undecalred wheat.

Allergy Alert (Denmark): Løgismose Mejeri & Fødevarer recalls Løgismose Pesto Rosso med soltørrede tomater / Red pesto with sundried tomatoes (150g; All Best before dates up to and including 01.10.2020) and La Campagna Rød Pesto / Red Pesto (130g; All Best before dates up to and including 01.10.2020) due to undeclared sulphites.

Allergy Alert (Ireland): Industry recalls Tiger Tiger Spicy Pad Thai Paste (all sizes; all date codes) because it contains peanuts which is not correctly emphasised on the label.

Allergy Alert (Ireland): FSAI warns consumers that provisional results indicate the presence of casein (milk protein) in Kelkin Hazelnut & Chocolate Flavoured Rice Cake Bars (20g and 120g (6 x 20g); All batch codes and date codes) and may be unsafe for consumers who are allergic to milk protein.

Allergy Alert (Netherlands): Uit de keuken van Maass recalls Groente curry kokos bowl / Vegetable curry coconut bowl (Best before 21-01-2021) due to undeclared sesame and soy.

OUTBREAK ALERT UPDATE – ONIONS: CDC reports 1012 cases of Salmonella Newport infections linked to onions from Thomson International, Inc. of Bakersfield, CA. Cases have been confirmed in 47 states, and 136 victims have been hospitalized. Only Oklahoma, Louisiana and Vermont have not reported any outbreak cases.

Allergy Alert: Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods recalls Ukrop’s Chicken Salad (15 oz; Sell by 09/02/20) due to undeclared almonds.

Canada

OUTBREAK ALERT UPDATE – ONIONS: PHAC reports 457 cases of Salmonella Newport infections linked to onions imported from Thomson International, Inc. of Bakersfield, CA. Cases have been confirmed in British Columbia (107), Alberta (257), Saskatchewan (33), Manitoba (25), Ontario (11), Quebec (23) and Prince Edward Island (1). Sixty-six people have been hospitalized and there has been one death that may be linked to the outbreak.

Allergy Alert: Loblaw Companies Limited recalls PC brand chicken strips – gluten free (600g; Batch Code 2021 AL 20; UPC 0 60383 20488 4) due to undeclared gluten.

Allergy Alert: Boulangerie Le Marquis recalls Pain sarrasin / buckwheat bread (425g; Product sold up to and including 2 September 2020) due to undecalred wheat.
