United States
OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION (Update): FDA has recovered from a sample of Utopia brand Enoki Mushrooms a strain of Listeria monocytogenes that is a genetic match for the strain of Listeria monocytogenes that was recovered from patients in an outbreak first reported last fall by the CDC. The outbreak has affected three individuals, one each in California, Nevada and Michigan. All three outbreak victims have been hospitalized.

Food Safety Recall (Update): Fullei Fresh recalls Fullei Fresh brand alfalfa sprouts (8 ounce retail packs and on 5 lb. bulk cardboard boxes; Lot 336; Shipped to distributors and retailers in Florida between December 9-23, 2022) due to shigatoxin-producing E. coli contamination.

Allergy Alert: Boucherie Blainville (Blainville, QC) recalls Sauce aux champignons / Mushroom sauce (sold up to 17 January 2023) due to undeclared wheat, and recalls Sauce au porto (sold up to 17 January 2023) due to undeclared wheat, soy, milk and sulphites.
Allergy Alert: Pizzéria Express 5 étoiles (Saint-Prosper, QC) recalls multiple pizza varieties (sold up to 16 January 2023) due to undeclared soy. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.
Food Safety Recall: Rela marché africain ( Montréal, QC) recalls Marinade Tout Usage / All purpose marinade (250 ml; sold up to 17 January 2023) because it was prepared and packed in a manner that represents a potential food safety risk.

Europe
OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION (Sweden): The Swedish Agency for Agriculture, the Swedish Food Agency, SVA, the Public Health Agency, regional infection control and other regional and local authorities are investigating an outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis infections that has sickened 22 people from eleven different regions across Sweden. The outbreak is thought to be linked to Salmonella-contaminated eggs from a single Swedish producer. Multiple brands and production batches of fresh shell eggs supplied by this producer have been recalled since late December 2022.
