OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: The FDA is investigating a new outbreak of 40 confirmed cases of Salmonella Newport. No specific food item has yet been associated with the outbreak.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: The FDA continues to investigate the source of elevated blood lead levels linked to consumption of cinnamon applesauce pouches. The agency has received 52 reports of adverse events potentially linked to recalled product to date.

FDA Safety Alert: FDA advises consumers not to eat, and restaurants and food retailers not to sell, and to dispose of oysters illegally harvested from Milford Approved area in Connecticut on 11/12/2023 and 11/15/2023 by original certified dealer Seaview Fisheries, CT-084-SS, AQ, and labeled as lots L466B and 466A because they may be contaminated.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: PHAC has now confirmed 26 cases of Salmonella Soahanina and Sundsvall illness linked to consumption of Malichita brand cantaloupe in five Canadian provinces: British Columbia (7), Ontario (7), Quebec (8), Prince Edward Island (2) and Newfoundland and Labrador (2). Additional Salmonella infections are under investigation and more illnesses associated with this outbreak may be confirmed.
