Outbreak/Illness Investigations

USA: FDA and CDC are investigating an outbreak of 12 confirmed cases of E. coli O145:H28 in Florida and Georgia. Four people have been hospitalized. The cases are linked to consumption of frozen GreenWise brand-organic blueberries recalled by Frutas y Hortalizas del Sur S.A, of San Carlos, Chile.

USA Update: FDA and CDC report a fourth case of infant botulism linked to Nara Organics Whole Organic Milk infant formula powder. FDA also reports that the California Department of Public Health has recovered Clostridium botulinum from an opened can of the infant formula collected at the home of one of the victims.

United States

Food Safety Recall: Frutas y Hortalizas del Sur S.A., San Carlos, Chile recalls frozen GreenWise Organic IQF Blueberries (10 oz; Lot code 60401; Best by February 9, 2028) due to possible E. coli O145:H28 contamination.

Canada

Allergy Alert: The Prairie Stock Market & Goods recalls Westside Sauce brand Bistro Honey Dill Sauce (237 ml; All lot codes; UPC 6 27987 67785 0) due to undeclared mustard.

Food Safety Recall: Marché Lambert et Frères inc. (IGA Extra) (Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, QC) recalls ground beef and ground veal (Pack date 5 July 2026) due to possible foreign matter contamination (pieces of metal and plastic).

Ireland and United Kingdom

Food Safety Recall (Ireland): Horgans recalls Horgans Truffle Gouda (150g; Best before 02/10/2026, 09/10/2026, 24/10/2026; Product of Netherlands) and M&S Food Truffle Gouda (150g; Best before 09/10/2026; Product of Netherlands) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
