DENMARK: The Statens Serum Institut is investigating 14 cases of Salmonella Enteritidis (sequence type 11) illnesses spread across three regions of Denmark. Patients are between 2 and 84 years old (median age 69). The source of the infection has not yet been identified.

USA: The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is working with local health departments and the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) to investigate an outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis that has sickened 63 residents of the state, sending 13 of them to hospital. The outbreak has been tied to consumption of eggs supplied by Vega Farms, Inc. The implicated eggs were recalled on December 5, 2025.

CANADA (Update): PHAC reports 32 cases of Salmonella Oranienburg illnesses linked to contact with pet treats manufactured by Puppy Love Pet Products Inc. Eight people have been hospitalized.
FRENCH POLYNESIA (Rangiroa): Health authorities confirm an outbreak of more than 80 cases of Salmonella Enteritidis infections previously linked to multiple cases of acute gastroenteritis. The outbreak was traced to the consumption of locally prepared dishes, notably smoked chicken and Russian salad made with homemade mayonnaise. Three people were evacuated to Tahiti for hospital treatment and one person has died
