Outbreak/Illness Investigations
INDIA: India reports a waterborne diarrhea outbreak in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh that has caused 75-90 hospitalizations and two deaths. Two patients remain in critical condition. Preliminary investigations indicate that recent road expansion work may have damaged municipal pipelines, allowing drainage water to enter the drinking water supply.

Pet Food Safety Recall: Go Raw LLC recalls Quest Cat Food Chicken Recipe frozen products (2 lb pkgs; Lots MCD25350 & MCC25321; Best before 5/17/2027 & 6/16/2027, respectively) due to potentially low levels of thiamine (Vitamin B1). The company also has stopped the sale of all Quest products at all retailers until the thiamine content issue has been addressed.
