Outbreak/Illness Investigations

USA (Update): CDC reports that the Salmonella Telekebir outbreak linked to raw oysters is now over. Twenty-three states reported a total of 80 confirmed outbreak cases, and 34 of the victims were hospitalized. There were no deaths. No single common source of oysters was able to be determined from the available information.

Pet Treat Safety Recall: Elite Treats, LLC recalls Elite Treats Chicken Chips for Dogs (6 oz bag; Lot #24045; Expiration date 04/2027) due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled dog treats were sold to Florida Hardware, LLC which sold to feed stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Allergy Alert: Boulangerie, pâtisserie et charcuterie Laura inc. (Saint-Léonard, QC) recalls Pommes / Apples (All lots) due to undeclared sulphites.

Food Safety Recall: Marché Reynald (Montréal, QC) recalls LÉGUMES BROYÉS DANS L’HUILE/ Vegetables crushed in oil (Sold up to 23 February 2026) due to potential for growth of Clostridium botulinum.

Food Safety Recall Update: Jabbour Export/Import Ltd recalls Mahrousa Tahina (800g; Expiry 23/06/2026) due to possible Salmonella contamination.

Ireland and United Kingdom

Allergy Alert (Ireland): FSAI warns that Ketoclassic 3:1 Porridge, Muesli and Savoury (All batches and Best before dates; Product of UK) contain incorrectly declared gluten (wheat), sulphur dioxide, sulphites, and/or milk.

Hong Kong and Singapore

Food Safety Recall (Hong Kong): Man Tung Trading Company Limited recalls Furuta Doremi Song Chocolate (122g; Batch code 2026.10/JG+FM; Best before End of October, 2026; Product of Japan) due to possible foreign matter contamination (plastic fragments).
