Outbreak/Illness Investigations
USA: CDC is investigating multistate outbreaks of Salmonella Lome, Salmonella Muenchen, and Salmonella Oranienburg infections linked to pet geckos. As of November 3, 2025, the three Salmonella outbreaks are responsible for 101 confirmed infections and 27 hospitalizations in 33 states. Victims range in age from <1 to 83 years. Twenty-three percent (23%) are less than five years old.

Allergy Alert: Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams recalls Passion Fruit Dreamsicle Ice Cream Bars (Lot 25-210) due to undeclared wheat and soy.
Food Safety Recall: Mangalm LLC recalls Tops Mixed Fruit Jam (475g; Batch #4F1101; Best before 10/06/2026) and Tops Strawberry Jam (475g; Batch #4F1101; Best before 10/06/2026) due to the presence of carmoisine, an unapproved color additive.

Food Safety Recall Update: Phidelia Premium Products, Master Delight, Nutime, East Indian Supermarket, Mirch Masala Groceries Inc., Bulk Mart, Koko Berry, Alzahraa Halal Meat Inc., The Brazilian Confectionery Inc., Chocolada Enterprises Inc., Saadi Nuts, Haftseen Supermarket, GNDD Trading, Strictly Bulk Emporium Inc., Princes Pastries Ltd. recall various pistachios and pistachio-containing products due to possible Salmonella contamination.
