Outbreak/Illness Investigations

CANADA (Update): The Public Health Agency of Canada has confirmed 88 cases of Salmonella in an outbreak linked to consumption of various brands of salami and cacciatore products manufactured by Marini Foods Limited. Nine people have been hospitalized.

USA (Dogs): The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is currently investigating reports of an unexplained sudden-onset illness affecting multiple dogs in the Venice Canals area.

Food Safety Recall: Doehler Dry Ingredient Solutions, LLC recalls Member’s Mark Freeze Dried Fruit Variety Pack (15-count; Multiple lot codes and use-by dates) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
