Outbreak/Illness Investigations

USA: FDA and CDC are investigating an outbreak of Salmonella Oranienburg illnesses associated with consumption of an imported shelf-stable nut butter cream. Four outbreak cases have been confirmed (3 in Minnesota and 1 in New Jersey), and one person has been hospitalized. The implicated product, Emek-brand Pistachio Cream with a use-by date of October 19, 2026 (TETT: 19/10/26 (DD/MM/YY)) and production code PNO: 241019, is manufactured by Emek Dogal Saglik Urunleri Iklim Gida Insaat San Tic Ltd Sti in Turkey and imported into the United States. No recall notice has been issued.

Allergy Alert: Turkana Food Inc. recalls Floria Dried Apricots (200g; Lot 440090478-15-333; Expiration date 11/2026) due to undeclared sulphites.

Allergy Alert: Meijer recalls Frederik’s by Meijer Dark Chocolate Almonds (12 oz; Sell by 05/07/2026 & 05/28/2026, and 8-count 1.5 oz; Sell by 05/05/2026) due to undeclared cashews.

Food Safety Recall: Starway International Group, LLC recalls approximately 9,513 pounds of ineligible frozen Siluriformes fish ball products that were produced by an establishment in Vietnam that is not eligible to export Siluriformes fish to the United States.

Food Safety Recall: King Tallow LLC recalls GRASS FED Beef Tallow ARTISAN COOKING OIL by KING TALLOW (10.5 oz; produced from 2023 through May 2025) because the tallow was processed, packaged, and labeled without the benefit of federal inspection.

Food Safety Recall: Marché Lost River (Harrington, QC) recalls SAUCE À LA VIANDE / Meat sauce (Sold up to 11 June 2025) because the product was manufactured under insanitary conditions.
