United States
OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: CDC is investigating an outbreak of Salmonella Stanley and Salmonella Pomona infections linked to contact with small pet turtles. Twenty-six people are known to have been infected so far, and nine of them required hospitalization. Outbreak cases have been reported by eleven US states. A federal law bans the sale and distribution of turtles with shells less than 4 inches long as pets because they have caused many illnesses, especially in young children. Despite the ban, these turtles can sometimes be found illegally online and at stores, flea markets, and roadside stands.

Food Safety Recall: Les distributions Mindblow inc recalls Mindblow brand Energy Drink – Original Edition (473 ml; All batch codes; UPC 8 60006 52613 9) and Mindblow brand Energy Drink – Pink Lemonade (473 ml; All batch codes; UPC 8 60006 52611 5) due to non-permitted ingredients, including Mucuna Pruriens Extract (98% L-Dopa) that may pose a serious health risk.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE (Denmark): The Statens Serum Institut has now confirmed 19 Salmonella Enteritidis infections in five regions of the country since May 2023. The outbreak is suspected to be linked to consumption of imported chicken kebabs, and is part of an international outbreak.
Allergy Alert (France): MONOPRIX HOLDING recalls MONOPRIX BIO brand NOISETTE, GRAINES DE COURGE ET ABRICOT / Hazelnut, pumpkin seed and apricot bars (3x25g; All Lots; Best by 14/06/2024) due to undeclared hazelnuts.
Food Safety Recall (Belgium): Holland and Barrett recalls Rude Health brand Low Sugar Granola (400g; Lots PD17042023, PD18042023, PD09052023; Best before 17/04/2024, 18/04/2024, 09/05/2024, respectively) due to foreign matter contamination (small pebbles).
