United States

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: Food containing morel mushrooms imported from China may be source of deadly food poisoning outbreak among patrons of Dave’s Sushi in Bozeman, Montana. The outbreak, which has sickened at least 30 people and killed two, outbreak appears to be isolated to people who ate at Dave’s Sushi between March 31 and April 17, 2023. No specific pathogen or toxin has yet been identified.

Allergy Alert: Schnuck Markets, Inc. recalls Culinaria Cashew & Macadamia Mix (9 oz; Lot code 3033 A9; Best by 2/02/25) due to undeclared almonds.

Allergy Alert: FSIS alerts the public that MEATLOAF & TOMATO SAUCE MIXED RICE AND SPINACH, frozen (14-oz. paper or plastic three compartment tray; Use or discard by May 1, 2023, May 13, 2023, June 15, 2023, and June 28, 2023) due to undeclared egg, milk, soy, and wheat. The trays were shipped to organizations serving the senior population in Southern California and were further distributed through home-delivery meal service programs. 

Food Safety Recall: By order of the California State Veterinarian, Raw Farm, LLC recalls Raw Farm Whole Raw Milk (64 oz & 128 oz; Best by 05/05/2023) due to Campylobacter jejuni contamination.

Food Safety Recall: Rushdi Food Industries recalls Mighty Sesame Organic Tahini (10.9 oz Squeezable; Expiration date 9/25/23; Product of Israel) due to possible Salmonella contamination.

FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns Juicer Connections, Inc. that an October 24, 2022, through November 25, 2022 inspection of the company’s facility found serious violations of Title 21, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 120 [21 CFR Part 120] Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Systems and 21 CFR Part 117 Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-Based Preventative Controls for Human Food regulation.

Food Safety Recall: Trudeau Farms recalls Trudeau Farms brand Curly parsley (160g; All bunches sold from April 24 to May 3, 2023 inclusively; UPC 0 68567 12520 8) due to possible Salmonella contamination.
