United States

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is investigating two active foodborne disease outbreaks that may be due to foods produced under its jurisdiction. One is an outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 infections thought to be linked to ground beef, and the other is an outbreak of Clostridium botulinum illnesses possibly linked to canned soup. No other details are available.

Allergy Alert: Flowers Foods recalls Nature’s Own Honey Wheat Bread (20-oz and 40-oz; Product batch codes 128 346 03:00 through 128 346 05:00; Best if used by 12-26-21) due to undeclared milk.

Allergy Alert: Les Entreprises Amira recalls Sera brand Kabak Dolmasi (300g; All batch codes; UPC 8 690777 005708) due to undeclared cashews.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: FDA is investigating possible food sources linked to a new outbreak of 16 confirmed Listeria monocytogenes infections. No other details are available at this time.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: FDA has initiated sample collection and analysis in its ongoing investigation of a Salmonella Javiana outbreak that has grown to include 51 confirmed cases.

Food Safety Recall: New Alasko Limited Partnership recalls Alasko brand IQF whole kernel corn (12 kg / 6 x 2 kg; Lot #GT21120; UPC 1 069505 816003 4) due to possible Salmonella contamination. This recall was triggered by findings by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) during its investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak. The investigation into the source of the foodborne illness outbreak is ongoing; however, at this time there have been no confirmed illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
