Public Health Alert: FSIS issues a public health alert for approximately 165 pounds of imported frozen Siluriformes products. The products were imported from Brazil, a country ineligible to export Siluriformes products to the United States. A recall was not recommended because it is believed that the affected products are no longer available to be purchased by consumers. Please refer to the FSIS notice for complete information on the affected products.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: FDA and CDC continue their investigation into an outbreak of Salmonella Duisberg and Salmonella Urbana infections linked to the consumption of Jule’s Cashew Brie, a vegan, or plant-based cheese alternative. CDC has confirmed reports of seven outbreak-related illnesses in three states, with three hospitalizations.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION (LITHUANIA): The State Food and Veterinary Service is investigating twelve cases of suspected foodborne illness among children at the Kėdainiai Aušra Progymnasium of the Lithuanian Sports University.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION (SWEDEN): Sweden reports fourteen cases of Salmonella Braenderup infections in ten different regions of the country. The source of the outbreak has not yet been identified.
