Outbreak/Illness Investigations
USA: FDA and CDC report an outbreak of 39 confirmed cases of E. coli O121:H19 illnesses in 18 states. Fifteen people have been hospitalized and there has been one death. The outbreak has been linked to consumption of organic whole carrots and organic baby carrots from Grimmway Farms.

Food Safety Recall: Grimmway Farms recalls multiple brands of organic whole carrots and organic baby carrots due to potential contamination with E. coli O121:H19. The recalled products have been implicated in a multi-state outbreak of E. coli O121:H19 infections.
